Don’t spend your life trying to make others happy. Spend it sharing your happiness with others.
Tell the negativity committee that meets inside your head to sit down and shut up. Various committees meet continuously throughout the day in your head, but you are not the committees. You are the Observer and you oversee the entire process. Don’t trick yourself into thinking you are a particular thought or a train of thought. You are merely watching all these thoughts arise in your mind - you decide whether a thought reflects what you want to be in this life or not.
Hate is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.
The reality crisis has grown so dire that Stephen Hawking has called for a kind of philosophical surrender, a white flag he terms “model-dependent realism”, which basically says that while our theoretical models offer possible descriptions of the world, we’ll simply never know the true reality that lies beneath. Perhaps there is no reality at all.
Trust the body, question the mind.
It was not an hour into the experiment, and still no acknowledgement of any activity from the MDMA. Then came the unexpected question, the off the wall question.
“Is it all right to be alive?”
Don’t be ashamed of your past actions or thoughts but recognize them as legitimate, existing in their own moment.
